It seems that glass chose me before I realized this choice. Every year our relationship is reconsidered: sometimes I lead the process, sometimes the material dictates the terms. But aesthetics has always been my compass - and over the years this has not changed.
ABOUT CHOICE
Artists have a common foundation – the need to create. But their paths are different. Glass is not just a material for me: its fragility and durability, the play of light and fluidity of forms contain a whole philosophy. It is self-sufficient from the moment of birth. Was there a conscious choice here? Now it seems that there wasn’t.

EXPERIENCE
Stroganovka gave me a base, but I found real freedom outside of it — in the workshops, where I started working early in parallel with my studies. There was room for experiments: you could make mistakes, mix techniques, break the rules. It was this period that formed me as a practitioner — someone who learns about the world through action.

Philosophy of the process
It is important for me not to freeze within the framework of one method. It is much more valuable to discover something new: be it non-obvious combinations of materials or unexpected textures. This is where my sincerity lies. My works are a reflection of personal.
I believe that a modern artist does not need strict boundaries. Institutes teach craft, but only life teaches freedom. And it is important not to work with the material, but to conduct a dialogue with it. It is in dialogue that form is born.
